We shipped the calves today. Well the bigger share of them anyway. Still a fair amount bawling in the corral across from their mothers. We preg check tomorrow. Market seemed good or really great, considering past year. I ain’t complaining, but when you consider the cost of fuel and equipment, the prices really are notContinue reading “Shipping”

Family
Tate and Kass and family came out Friday night and we were up early Saturday morning looking for a deer for Tate. he got a nice buck, tho’ it wasn’t the one he thought he was after. I had seen one with a weird set of antlers and mentioned he’d be a good one toContinue reading “Family”

I went out and caught and hooked up Ron and Ren and drove them afoot quite awhile and then hooked them to the chariot and drove them a lot on the big corral. Ol’ Ren done great for a silly filly! I then messed with Rill in the round pen. While working these horses today,Continue reading “Horses”

Beautiful fall day, but they claim we got some rain and snow coming this afternoon/evening and the wind is supposed to be gusting to 44 mph by midnight, then slowly dying down until tomorrow evening. Cindy is staying in town tonight inContinue reading “Today’s doin’s!”
Fall fun
I went with my neighbor to the west, up north to his brothers place to help them ship their calves. Got them gathered and sorted and then hauled the heifer calves up to the headquarters. The rest of the crew was gathering the big bunch and we didn’t help them. Then after unloading the horseContinue reading “Fall fun”
Branding the fall calves
Here’s some pictures. Lots of wind, but I sure seen worse days in November, so I ain’t gonna complain. But my elbow is sore from trying to swing a loop in the wind!
