Had fun. Did not shoot one bird. I decided I needed heavier loads and better aim. But still had a lot of fun. Met quite a few new people and really enjoyed my traveling partner. I met him at Enning and we visited all the way down and back. We both tend towards ADHD soContinue reading “The great hunt”

Fall
I worked on the kennel/doghouse/old chicken house today. Made a couple of pens for dogs. Bob and Shadow want to whip up on Buck so he has been staying in the horse trailer. At times, that is a bit inconvenient. So I made a couple pens and left a large area so I could penContinue reading “Fall”
What we been doing
Yesterday the urchins insisted we drive the team so we went down south and picked up the empty lick and mineral barrels and some posts. Then this morning we went over to Bud’s and worked Buck on some sheep. He liked them! 😉 When we got home I hung a gate I had patched up,Continue reading “What we been doing”
Dental work
Took a couple horses up to the neighbors to get their teeth floated. Only had to work on one. Sore throat is getting better. Got some antibiotics in town yesterday. Also, been getting some WHINING about a picture of the new dog, Buck. Here’s a picture.
Dang
Woke up about 5 this morning with a real, real dry throat. Must have been snoring and it felt like there was a flap of skin hanging down in there. Set up and read on the computer for awhile then went back to bed. Felt a little better when I woke up later. Still tiredContinue reading “Dang”
Dark thirty
When we took off. I met Lyle at his corner and he and his horse jumped in with me and Buck. We got over to the Association and went with the feller who runs it and his wife and nephew and rode west into a small holding pasture and gathered. Cows weren’t real cooperative, butContinue reading “Dark thirty”
More hay
Got another 6 loads in today. Bales weighing about 1100#. Got about 200 tn on hand now so I feel better about winter coming. Cindy helped me swap the bucket on the loader from the wide bucket to the narrow bucket, so it was handier to handle the bales. When we got all done unloadingContinue reading “More hay”

I took of Saturday morning and headed west. Went over to Gillette and headed north and west until I got to a crossroads and headed north again. Grass
Went up and helped Dean this morning and then this afternoon Gramma rode with me and we went south and looked at cattle. Snapped some pictures of the grass. When you see he red grass in your pasture, you know you are not over grazing (which is really a misnomer) as it is a decreaser,Continue reading “Grass”
More corral work
Went out and added wire and cut on poles in the corral today. Then started work on the new corral. Got it done just before dark this evening. I will have to get more wire and add wire to the new corral later. And hang a gate. But now I will be able to harnessContinue reading “More corral work”
