Got about 4 to 5 inches of snow. But not much wind right here. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow and a lite breeze out of the south. Sounds like the roads were kind of fun, so glad we didn’t cause many people to be out on them. Cindy and I just stayed around here andContinue reading “White stuff”

Dang
We are supposed to get wind and snow coming in tonight and it’s going to be more snow and wind up in the Hills where were were going to hold the event, When the Works All Done This Fall. So we decided to postpone it to another day. Maybe right after the first of theContinue reading “Dang”
Shipping
We shipped the calves today. Well the bigger share of them anyway. Still a fair amount bawling in the corral across from their mothers. We preg check tomorrow. Market seemed good or really great, considering past year. I ain’t complaining, but when you consider the cost of fuel and equipment, the prices really are notContinue reading “Shipping”

Fall fun
I went with my neighbor to the west, up north to his brothers place to help them ship their calves. Got them gathered and sorted and then hauled the heifer calves up to the headquarters. The rest of the crew was gathering the big bunch and we didn’t help them. Then after unloading the horseContinue reading “Fall fun”
Branding the fall calves
Here’s some pictures. Lots of wind, but I sure seen worse days in November, so I ain’t gonna complain. But my elbow is sore from trying to swing a loop in the wind!
Cool fall weather
About 35 degrees when I finally decided it had warmed up enough to go to work this morning. But the south wind is picking up. Horses were close so I opened the gate and shook a bucket and captured Mijo and Pilgrim. I saddled Mijo and then let him stand to warm his back whileContinue reading “Cool fall weather”
Town run
Cindy and I hauled a critter up to Newell to the butcher, for Chances crew, yesterday. We then headed to Sturgis, dropped the trailer off and did some odds and ends shopping. Cindy needed some work clothes and shoes and I needed to get my one hearing aid adjusted. We had to run back toContinue reading “Town run”
