Got some 3x3x8 bales in the other day so I have been devising a way to feed them. I stood them on end, leaned against some other bales, all lined up. Then I back my low boy wagon up to them and push one on from the back end. I put a piece of StrongbarnContinue reading “Monday 12/20/10”

After I got done with the chores this morning, I ran down south of Enning and looked at some hay. Some 3x4x8 bales. I think I will get a few and see if I can feed them handily with my team. If so, I will get a load or two. Price is right. This afternoonContinue reading “Wed 12/15/10”

Don’t suppose I will get to write that header again in my life! Just a wee bit brisk this morning! Had a regular blizzard last night. I even let the dogs stay in the house, but it didn’t help my sleeping any. Bob just ain’t figured out how to go lie down and sleep allContinue reading “Saturday 12/11/10”

Grampa had a helper today to do chores. Hope brought Sam and Gus out yesterday and stayed over for a spell. So I found some old chaps of one of Gus’s uncles or his dad’s to help keep his legs warm and we went chorin’. He was a real big help!

Boy is it a beautiful day out there! Sun is shining, making the snow all sparkly. About 27 above as I write this. Not hardly a breeze. Makes me want to hook to a sleigh with the team and give somebody a ride! Maybe when Cindy gets home, or tomorrow. Fed the calves, old cowsContinue reading “Sunday Dec 5, 10”
12/3/10 Afternoon
Went out this afternoon and saddled up Pilgrim and brought the cows in and sorted off a few who are older and/or thinner. None are in bad shape yet, but it’s easier to keep them in good shape than to try and get them in good shape. Especially them ol’ gummer cows. Also I sortedContinue reading “12/3/10 Afternoon”
