I helped Tate yesterday and been at it again today.. trying to get the stairs built to go up to the loft.. big beams, big slabs of Ash wood he cut out a few years ago and we have to mill them and get them all the same dimension, figure out the lay of the run and rise… he cut his finger this morning so Gramma brought up some band aids.. hoisting a 16 foot 8×8 beam up and leaning it the proper place and hitting the right mark.. it’s interesting but wish I was younger and stronger… windy today and chilly, tho’ not real bad… seems like we have so much yet to do on this house… oh well, when we are all done (if we ever are! 😀 ) we will probably forget how long it took!

Helped Tate on the house this afternoon, Chance and Hope had a Bible study, so Gramma, Bit and I fed this morning.. we got a good start on the deck/porch on the south side of the house and I finished up with the wall in the mud room.. slowly, so slowly… LOL

South east wind picking up this afternoon, made it a bit chilly, but still a nice day.

Helped Tate on the house today. got some of the interior walls done.. still have to spray them with something… we got a few inches of snow the other day, but it’s gone, just some mud left and it was drying fast this afternoon with the wind that picked up.. some move chances for moisture tomorrow or tonight I guess.. Cindy worked this afternoon so Kass invited me down for supper, steak and taters.. good stuff, Maynard..

Man, it’s been awhile since I last posted… I took a horse and a big bale of hay up to Dustin to ride for awhile, today, wind really blew, 80 some mph up by Buffalo.. we worked on the house yesterday, chinking.. Tate worked on it today and Chance helped Cindy said. Been warm enough there ain’t much snow, a little bit of ice in some creek bottoms.. yard is awful muddy. I haven’t been tasking any pictures, guess i better get some new ones of the house and post them, tho’ it hasn’t changed too much.. most of the windows in, the bridge is covered in the middle of the house, got electrical wires run all over, a tub or shower in each bathroom..just got to get everything hooked up… when it is warm enough we need to be chinking, it doesn’t go real fast..

I went down yesterday, Sunday and met up with far flung friends. We visited and watched the Ranch horse competition… then I went over to the Civic Center and looked at voted with some of the Artists there and wandered around the trade show looking and visiting… sure is a lot of stuff I don’t want to look at or need. I guess most are not there for me! I ate a bite and headed home. today I fed as Chance had other things to do and then helped Tate install a door in the basement of the new house. Not sure what I got planned for this afternoon. this evening Cindy and I are going to go watch the priests of this Dioceses play basketball against the high school kids at St Thomas Moore School. It’s a fund raiser and should be good watching.. I am kind of betting on the kids!

I was taken to task for not posting on here.. not much to post, it warmed up and we have lots of bare ground and ice now.. Tate has been working on the house, it has most of the windows in now and electrical into the house, or at least the wires are there, just need hooked up. We’ve been stringing wire inside and just doing what we can.. I took a wire wheel on the grinder to the walls to get rid of little rough spots, got some more of that to do.. we shipped out some cows today, we had been wintering.. not much else to report. Stockshow is hearer and we will be going in to a few events…the drop the broncride but are having a ranch bronc riding, so at least I’ll get to see some bucking horses… I don’t care for the Ranch rodeo as there ain’t much very ranchy about it… I will be going down to meet up with some far flung friend a day or so.. about all there is to report..

Cold, then warm back to cold. Cindy and I went to town on Wednesday, for my birthday to go to the chiropractor. We went to the new movie, Revenant. We weren’t real impressed. I don’t know why they used the name Hugh Glass and only took one part from his life and changed everything else.. I imagine Leo will get an Oscar.. it had some cool scenery  but the story line was about like a B movie.. lots of weird stuff that didn’t make much sense and several things that sure were’t right… typical Hollyweird style of western. If they would make a realistic movie of his real life and what he went thru’, that would make a great movie, but I guess they are just too cool to stick to the truth. About like all the “cool” people in this world. the truth doesn’t suit them.. Bit the pup is getting bigger.. she is sure a ferocious thing… ankle biter and pant leg dragger… she can get on the bed now so in the morning  we are awakened by her nips and licks on exposed flesh.. why does anyone want a dang pup? LOL

Not much for a breeze and sunshine.. I suppose it was up over 30… Chance and I sorted off some of the older and younger cows yesterday who need a bit more tender care and feed and kept them close. Then today Cindy and I lured the bunch in we put them with and sorted off some of the fatter ones and kicked them up west.. they get fed, just not as much, as they have picking. Tate and Chance took two trailers and went and got some hay Chance had bought. Chance drove my new to me 95 Dodge and got along good until almost home then it made a funny sound. They left it and came home with Tates load, unloaded and unhooked then went and got the other trailer load. The pickup runs but has oil on top of the motor.. might not be anything big, but they went and loaded the pickup up and hauled it to the mechanic.. hopefully it is just a hose that blew off. Chance said it pulled like a champ. I had them put some real aggressive tires on the back yesterday at CBH and he said it pulled like it had chains on, on snow. We also got a load of cake in. Busy day but got a lot done…
