Rick and Del will be here after bit to help me gather them and move them across the road. Also supposed to get some hay in.And some rain today and then snow and the wind is supposed to really howl tonight.

Looks pretty nice out there this morning. Wind blew this weekend and tho’ it wasn’t too cold, it seemed like it. Got a few flurries yesterday, but nothing stuck.

Chance and Hope and kids arrived Saturday evening. Hope has some appointments this week. Chance headed back yesterday after we ate lunch. I rode with Hope to Rapid where she spent the evening so she could get to early appointments this morning, and met Cindy. We were to meet a man about a used TV, but when we got there, found it was too big and heavy to fit where we wanted it. So we went and looked at new ones. but didn’t find any she or I wanted. So we bought some groceries and headed home. Oh, we stopped at the book store so we have some new reading material. Won’t get much out of either of us until we get them read. πŸ™‚

I have to drive her and her  mother around to some doctor appointments this afternoon and ship the pasture cows out, tomorrow. Sounds like we got some snow and wind coming in. Wonderful. 😦

Duh turty point buck!

That’s what everyone will be lookin’ for here this morning. Opening day of deer season. I have one guy coming. Tate was coming and bringing a co worker, but they can’t make it until next weekend. They are just after meat, ie. “does” anyway. But Tate also has a tag that can be used for bucks or does, so he probably wouldn’t pass up a “wall hanger”. Problem is, there are not that many “wall hangers” out there. If people would quit shooting bucks for a couple years and let some of these young ones get some size, then there would be. Oh well, talkin’ to the wind, around here, to try and talk people into not shooting bucks unless they are worth getting mounted.

Know what’s weird????

When you look in the obit’s and see your name!

Fr Tyler called me this morning to express his condolences at my death. so I checked it out. Same name,Β  same middle initial. Lots older. Well, maybe not lots. In his late 70’s.

Makes you think of death and stuff.

Glad I got that all covered.

As Mark Twain once said, The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated!

Probably a few people who if they saw that were happy. Sorry enemies, it ’twasn’t this on! πŸ™‚

And the answer is……

They are scabbards for draw knives, used to peel logs and poles!

Dang, so many many close answers.

Oh well, all you were going to win was my everlasting gratitude ( and maybe something made from leather). Guess I will just have to hoild another contest one of these days. But you are all so smart, it’s going to be hard to come up with something good enough to keep you from winning!

Thanks for all the answers!

Looks like another beautiful day out there!

Well, one thing about SD if you don’t like the weather, just wait a bit and it will change!

It’s a blustery day, Pooh, as they say. Cooled off a bit and supposed to rain and a little snow. Guess it is that time of year. Went out and did chores then welded on a hay feeder for the horses. Parts of the old baler are kind’a handy to have around. Going to work in the leather shop today. Projects are starting to pile up.

Ow! My feet hurt. Walked and walked and shot and shot and we all got our birds yesterday. Beautiful day and a fun bunch to hunt with. Thanks Nick and Mary Jo for providing a place to hunt and a great meal when it was done. You come out and I will try to pay you back in kind!
