Home

I left here yesterday about 10 am and headed south to Nebraska to a buddy’s camp down south of the Niobrara, in the Sandhills. Cool country. Neat camp. Real cowboy. Took me an hour, seemed like, to drive the last 500 yards into the camp! We had lots of laffs and a real good visit last night and this morning while doing his chores. I left a couple young horses for him to ride while calving this spring. When he is done, they will be dirty good boogers, or we will know the reason why as Marty is pretty crafty with a colt.

That country don’t look like they’ve even had winter, compared to us. No snow to speak of and we walked around with no over shoes on. Lucky boogers. I may have to go south for the winter next year and just camp with Marty!

Glad I am home before the big blow hits that they are predicting we will get, with an inch or two of snow. Cindy stayed in tonight and may tomorrow if it gets as nasty as they are talking. But supposed to be nice by Monday. That will be Chance’s birthday and Gabe will turn 4 on Friday so we will have to run down at some point and see the kids. I have to do taxes on Tuesday so maybe Cindy will ride along and we will just head on down afterwards.

I’ll let you know if I don’t blow away! 🙂

Ahhh

Warmed up a little and no wind. Just sunny. It’s the little pleasures in life. sounds like the Eastern seaboard is learning to deal with a little of the weather we get a lot of. I hope Al Gore is freezing his ass off, but you can be sure he’s got enough oil, electricity and other nasty things he cusses, to keep his fat ass warm! I hate hypocrites.

History

What was that quote about history?

There Missy, happy?

So what have we learned in 2,064 years ?

“The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt
should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and
controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest
Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living
on public assistance.”
Cicero – 55 BC

Evidently nothing!

Yup

Colder and a little wind, but not much snow. I took Cindy to work yesterday and then shopped and bought a book to read. When we were coming home we did run into some poorer road conditions close to home, but it was fine in the hills, tho’ a little nasty first thing in the morning. Chance did chores for me. Sounds like it will warm back up as the week goes along. That’s good as I need to haul a couple horses to a friend in Nebraska.

Saturday 2/6/10

Frosty out there this morning. Supposed to get some snow and a little wind starting tomorrow and then get colder for a few days. Kind of boring, isn’t it?

I need to get a couple horses hauled down to a friend in Nebraska so he can calve on them. Looks like a warming trend at the end of next week so maybe I can go then.

New computer

I took the old one in as it was making funny noises and I was told I could lose the hard drive and thus lose all my stuff. So I took it in and ended up buying a new to me one. This is an eMac and has about twice what I had  before for most things. Sure seems to be running nice and fast. Not bad for $300. They were able to fix the old one so I will give it to Tate and Kass. Maybe the grandkids can use it.
