Plumb tuckered out

Wind is howling this morning.. not blowing snow tho’ so it don’t matter.. kids are having their rally day today… a few years ago they moved it into town 60 miles away.. I don’t know why… seems stupid to me to haul these kids all in 60 miles so they can run and jump… I suppose they think it helps prepare them for when they all go to town to high school… branded our bunch on Saturday and a neighbors yesterday… I didn’t sleep goodnight before last so was tired when i got up yesterday a bit before 5… we did two bunches and them kids worked their tails off wrestling those calves, big boogers.. Gabe and Lige got to rope and drag.. Gabe did good, Lige had a hard time.. windy and his first time at it.. I need to build them a heeling dummy we can pull around and they can rope ahorseback… we got done with the second bunch and back to the house to eat about 3:30… we had plenty of breaks and snacks to eat all day tho’ so it wasn’t too big a deal… have had one of the new bulls die.. side of his head was all swollen up.. think it might have been snakebite.. I slept good last night but still sleepy this morning.. guess I better go look at the ones we worked and maybe move them on to fresh grass..
