That’s what we been doin’. My helpers are pretty good at stompin’ the hay if you don’t work them too long. Mostly, they want to RIDE, since I have gotten ’em horseback. Dang cowboys!
I hope you let them ride after all that hard work! Great Photos! I enjoyed seeing them..haying this way is a lost art you know..my Grandpa kept his horses working till about 1955..then he let the tractor take over.:)
Yeah Connie, we are going to ride today. We ran out of time yesterday. Tomorrow I will take them to the bronc riding match at the Faith Stockshow.
This is really really an old way of haying. Usually they swept it up to a beaver slide stacker or an over shot stacker, with a team of horses on a buck rake. But I don’t have a buck rake or stacker. Besides, this gives me more exercise and is a cheap way to keep these boys busy! 😉
