Yeeeeehawwwwww

Got my new bit and hangers in today and a day ago. They came from two different places. Norm Harris out in Idaho got the bit for me and Larry Fuegen down in Arizona made the sliding bit hangers for me. Larry was raised in SD, down by Reliance. Good feller and makes some great stuff. You ought to see his Damascus knives! So I put it all together and took some photo’s.

Putted around today. Drove up and looked around with Gramma and all the creek crossings are washed out again. Trimmed on a yearling colt’s feet. Sorted off my riding horses and Chance is supposed to come get a couple. they been putting in lots of miles up on that gumbo and his are rode down pretty good.

Supposed to go help trail some cattle tomorrow and mess with our on Thursday. I’ll try and get some photo’s.

Here’s some of the bit  and hangers and also one Hope took of me and Mijo at their branding the other day as I was getting set to turn and ride out, so was holding my slack high so the calf wouldn’t kick out.

    1. I doubt they will, but I bet my grandkids and great grandkids will, someday. sure wish my grampa and great grampa had cool stuff like this to pass down to me!

  1. Sure looks nice. I really like those hangers Larry made. I am still wanting to have an old timey headstall with card suite conchas made. I found a guy up close to the Oregon line that sorta specializes in them but think I’d rather have friends build the parts like you did.

How do you like that tongue relief on the spade? I was reading somewhere (Rojas I think) that the tongue relief makes the bit a little harder for the horse to pickup and works more on the bars, thus a little more severe. I don’t have enough personal experience to have much of an opinion formed by experience. Sure enough look SWEET though. 🙂

    1.  Haven’t used it ye so have no idea what effect it will have. I was a little startled as I didn’t know it had it, but it is so slight that I don’t think it will have an adverse effect, matter of fact I think it will give just some slight relief to the tonge. When I get to using it I will let you know, but I damn sure won’t post on Ranch Country about this or much else from now on, until Gommy leaves or some people start stacking shit on him for his asshole ways. He’s a fucktard. If I was still an administrater I’d kick his ass off or screw with him enough so he’d leave.
