Recognize the saddle blanket Lisa? I washed it in hot water and then drip dried it and then put it in the dryer. It’s smaller with a tighter weave now. 😉
Come for a western Ranch Vacation!

AWESOME! Now if it holds up to the wear, I will be one happy camper! You really didn’t have to use it as a saddle blanket, you can use it any way you wanted to. I sure think it looks nice under the saddle though. Hope it works out for you. I will have to wash the one I just did like you did, because it needs to be shrunk too! Enjoy, I love the other pictures too by the way!
I think if I did it again, I would measure before and after the washing and then when it drip dried and then when it came out of the dryer. I got real thick and fuzzy and felt real soft. I think from now on I will just use it by it’s self as it was a wee bit short for the pad I had sandwitched in it.
The more you wash it like that and dry it, the more it will get fuzzy. I thought that if I just soaked it, it would give you the chance to finish it the way it needs to be done. I think you have the right idea, if it is to long I will wash it and maybe dry it for a short period of time and then let it drip dry the rest of the way, the drying is what shrinks it.
Great pictures. Next time you wash it you can lay it flat on a warm windy day, at least thats what I do with ours.
Yeah, the next time I will as it will have horse hair on it! 😉 I usually just hose them down with a high pressure washer while they are hanging over a fence panel.
