How in the heck did it get to be Autgust, so fast? Seems like the summer is flying by.
Because of all the extra rain, we have been fighting sore feet and sore eyes in cows and calves.. we started off just darting them, but that became to expensive too fast, so we went to roping and doctoring in the pasture.. and decided we didn’t have enough horses or time in the day to do them that way, so we started bringing bunches into the corral and sorting off any cows or bulls that were effected, and putting them down the chute to vaccinate them.. the calves we just rope in the corral.. been getting lots of work out of the runt cowhand who live here… but they have been having to put up wth a grumpy Grampa… one bunch has been thru’ three times.. and the numbers are getting lower, so I guess we are gaining.. it is still green around here.. seems I heard we had 10 inches of rain in July… but I haven’t added my totals up yet.. wettest I have ever seen it in 61 years… people are having a hard time getting the hay put up as they never get much time when the moisture is right to cut and bale.. but they are making progress. I have always loved the idea of wet years like this.. who would have thought it would cause so many unforseen problems
