Went up north to help a neighbor.. started catching and saddling in the dark at 5:30 this morning and then drove in 4 wheel drive most of the way up there, because evidently our county can’t afford to put decent gravel on the rural roads… gathered the first bunch, then gathered the second bunch, sorted and weaned the calves and then pregged all the cows.. got done just at dark, which comes pretty early according to the clock, now! Sam and Gus and Chance went along and them two boys worked hard and look the place of two men.. dang sure earned their keep today and there was 4 pretty tired horse in the trailer on the way home. Gus rode Beauty and she was cheating him pretty bad, so Chance swapped horses with him and the poor little mare found out a kid wasn’t on her back! I rode Pard and he done good, he is getting soft in his face and responding to leg cues and the bosal better and better.. I like him…I am tired. Man, it is heck to be old and fat…. 😀
Good work. Well done to all. How are the calves that were sick??
Still a big mold mess here. Staying nearby in Holiday Inn $$$$$$$$
Say hey to all,
Calves seem to be mostly over it.. still see some with lingering effects, but no death loss or having to treat any. sorry about your mold mess…
