Well it was a great one,m other than the boss getting bucked off and laid up.. we went on without him… Mijo and I had a couple of scuffles and I hit the dirt once and the water once… water was sure softer… oh well, had a great time, weather was cool and cloudy so the Artists were sick of clouds, but sure nice to work in… Cindy and I drove out this afternoon and looked at pasture cattle, doctored a couple cows with sore feet… I will catch a ride in with Hope tomorrow and come home with Cindy, we both have doctor appointments and got some business to do.. they are talking cool stormy weather for mid September, hope they don’t send us another Atlas Blizzard… Got gigs Friday thru’ Sunday this weekend..

Cindy and I got up really early to be in Custer at 7:30 to look at some houses Tate and Chance have helped build.. we are mulling the idea of a new house. Again! Hopefully it won’t end in divorce! 😉

Laramie was here and shod up some horses this morning, worked on the windbreak this afternoon.. had to wait for Cindy to bring me a special tip for the screws and I wore it out so need to get another tomorrow… maybe 2 or 3!

Looks like we could get a shot of rain this evening… we’ll take it.. got a couple gigs this weekend… and another coupe over Labor Day weekend, plus the one we always do at Devils Tower… Artist Ride next week and into the weekend… so got to get everything gathered up for that…

I got all the bales hauled, over 300.. got them ricked up in long rows.. they claim they will keep better that way.. watched kids the other day while Chance and Hope took Gus to town, he fell from his bunk bed and broke his arm.. we splinted it and they headed in.. they said the doc told them we did a good job… he has splints for a week and then they will cast it next week.. Casey and Rooster rode with me to Faith yesterday evening to watch the bronc riding, good horses and some great rides.. Jesse Bail won it on a rank and crooked one.. usually that kind don’t score very high, but he never quit spurring so I imagine that is what made him win it… I rode out and moved a cow and calf this morning and looked thru’ the others, went back after lunch and doctored a cow and a calf… was going to doctor another, but couldn’t find her… then I went over and helped Del and Clint stack some bales… there was a fire south of us so we quit to go to it, but they got it out before we could get there.. I have a gig tonight.. not sure what I will do tomorrow, maybe go help Delbert again, or go see if I can find that other cow who needs a shot… Cindy is hard at work with the rally and never talked to her last night and probably won’t tonight, she mostly just comes home and goes to bed and then up early and back at it.. she hates the rally.. I don’t blame her and glad I don’t have to go anywhere near it…

Still hauling them, but about done… boys and I took a time out to go check cows and shut gates so they can go to fresh pasture and not come back into where they have been grazing.. belly deep in grass. hope they enjoy it… got a couple of showers this afternoon and evening, but not enough to stop the bale hauling, tho’ I did stick it in 4 wheel drive when going up some hills and through some dips…
