A blustery day, Pooh…

But at least it was up over 30. Made some mud and squished some snow…supposed to be nice tomorrow too and then watch out! šŸ™‚

Hope and Chance got their phone hooked up today,. They just laid it on the ground for now and when it thaws this spring they will come and bury it…also the Dish guy came ( a different one than the one who hooked it up and put it on a flimsy little support on the side of the trailer where it swayed in the slightest breeze) and did a great job. They ought to get a good signal now, no matter what…I fed with the Case today, wanted to see if the bale unroller was going to work. It does, but barely.. I need to get longer ears on it to hook to the three point… Hope went to town on a cake deal and was going to pick me up some chains but thew store with the best price was closed for inventory so I need to sweet talk Cindy in to picking them up tomorrow…. I ran down to Punkin Cent and got a haircut, Man! Keeping your hat on with out it constantly slipping up in the wind sure is a pleasure… makes me think of these “cowboys” I see with long hair, they damn sure ain’t out riding in the wind like that unless they have some kind of a fastener under their chin to keep their hat on…or…. they have a much different shaped head than most, danged if I can see how long haired wimmen keep one on, but then, I ain’t never seen many wimmen wear a hat in the wind… and dang it, I like seeing wimmen in hats… something snazzy about it… and for you not in this life we ranchers and cowboys live……, them ol’ boys who only wear a hat once in awhile when they are out about with the hands, we know who they are, unless you wear a hat a lot and for work, you just ain’t going to pull it off! šŸ˜‰

  1. Bobby pins lots and lots of bobby pins! And yes if you use enough and the correct ones your hat does stay on in the wind…as for the long haired boys who knows!

    1. Aha! I knew there had to be a secret… I knew one guy who claimed to be the roughest tuffest cowboy out there, had hair down to his shoulders… my guess was he wore a cap when no one was around… šŸ˜‰

  2. I think it also has to do with your hat size. I’ll be your hair wasn’t all that long when you sized the hat, so it isn’t going to fit down as far when you let your hair grow. That would be my guess anyhow.

Was a feller got himself shoot over in Deadwood while playin cards that had pretty long hair, but then again he weren’t much of a cowboy. One hell of a scout and gun fighter but I don’t recall any stories about Mr. Hickok cowboyn. šŸ™‚

    1. Yeah, and ol’ Bill didn’t have to ride in the wind all day either, he just sat in a bar and drank, gambled and shot people…
