I went out this morning and started tearing the old fence down in the corral. Cindy came along and helped for a bit. Then my dog started barking over at the woodpile, so we went to see what he had tree’d. When we got there, we saw a yellow streak run under the old truckContinue reading “Sumbuck!”

Some gone
Had a couple neighbors come this morning and help Chance and I bring the steers in and load them on trucks for the sale. We drove up and watched them sell. Gained around 2 pounds a day, looks like. I thought they might have done better than that, with all the feed. We were shortContinue reading “Some gone”
Got them
Had some neighbors come help Chance and I today. We gathered the steer bunch and the spayed heifer bunch (seeing as they had gotten a gate down and mixed together) and brought them in to the corral and sorted them. Put the heifers back down south and left the steers here on the north sideContinue reading “Got them”
Hot
Warmed right up. We were getting spoiled with all this 80 degree stuff. Gets up to 90 or over and it seems real hot and with all the rain we been getting it’s pretty dang humid. Chance and Gus and I went down north of Rapid and got some highline poles from a guy yesterday.Continue reading “Hot”

Hmmmm, very interesting!
http://curmudgeonlyskeptical.blogspot.com/2009/08/best-and-worst-of-50.html#links Went to Faith this morning for the parade, breakfast and the rodeo. Rained before the rodeo and it was muddy! I mean serious muddy! Then the sun came out for the start of the rodeo, but it was still muddy. Towards the end it poured buckets, just as the man and woman team ropingContinue reading “Hmmmm, very interesting!”
I knew it!

Lower in total fat 2. Higher in beta-carotene 3. Higher in vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) 4. Higher in B-vitamins and riboflavin 5. Higher inContinue reading “I knew it!”
Go!
http://www.juntosociety.com/patriotism/inytg.html Read this now! All of it! Ah, to have men like that again! Oh, and report back to me and let me know what you think of it. One of the greatest things I have ever read! We had rain last night and it’s been damp and cloudy all day. I went to FaithContinue reading “Go!”
Done!
Got all my bales hauled in and stacked. Also rode Pilgrim up north this morning and moved some heifers. Good thing Shadow went along as they were pretty stupid. But it was a good job for a colt and my dog. Drove down to Punkin’ Center and had a guy fix my wipers. All itContinue reading “Done!”
Jobs
Still fairly cool for this time of year. I took off yesterday morning and ran up to Newell and got the meat from the cow we had butchered. We had steaks for dinner yesterday. Excellent! I sure feel sorry for people who don’t get to eat a steak off a fat, dry cow who isContinue reading “Jobs”
