Okay, here’s a picture of Elijah. There are bound to be more pictures as we go along.

when I was there a little after noon today, both mother and baby were doing fine. he looks just like his big brother Gabe, when he was that size, they tell. Grampa’s don’t remember that stuff1

At a little after 3 am this morning on the 14th of November, Elijah Dennis came into this world. More details and hopefully a picture to follow!

11:33 am. BREAKING NEWS!

Looks like we are going to be heading in with Kass to go to the doctor. She’s cleaning up as I write this. They tell me contractions are about 6 minutes apart, which makes me a little nervous as Gabe came fast so this one should come even faster. I’ll keep you updated as developments happen. 🙂

Here’s some pictures Karen Bonnie took several summers ago. I got to messing with them in my picture program. I kind of like them.

Here’s a picture of Gus from this weekend. Little bugger is crawlin’ all over and gettin’ big!

Wind blew today pretty good. Delbert is moving cows home tomorrow from the gumbo, so it’s bound to blow then too! 🙂

Worked on the grandkids saddle a little today. Had a guy come to look at the place. Wants summer grass next year. I think I’m full, but we willl see.

Here’s the grandkids saddle with the seat in it getting shaped down. Got to work on it a little awhile ago. Need to do more.

Tate came out last night and Chance, Hope and Gus came out for awhile today. Got a little work out of them two boys. Went over to a doin’s at Marcus to help raise money for their hall. It sucked. When I play and sing and when others play and sing, people should shut the hell up or leave. Sorry. That’s just the way I feel.

On a better note, I drove the team a little today. Ruthie is gettin’ a little better.

This is a neat old saddle I checked out to use as a model for a new saddle for a customer.

It was from his wifes family. Made in the 1880’s probably. I just love seeing these old saddles and how they were made.

Didn’t get too much done today. But got the oil changed and the tires rotated on Teddy. I’m sure he appreciated that!

Got some feed for all the poor little starving livestock around here.

I’m taking Kass to her doctor appointment tomorrow. I may just kick her out and tell the doctor to go ahead and get the kid as she looks plumb miserable!

Keep your fingers crossed. We should be getting a new grandson just any day now!

9 pm update!!!!!

Doc told Kass she was up to a 3 and he’d go ahead and start the birth process right then if she wanted, but she chose to wait until the baby and mother nature told her it was time. So we will still be waiting for a bit. I’ll post more updates as they come in! 🙂

Unless the little bugger comes this weekend, I’ll get to drive her to the hospital. Man, I just love hauling pregnant wimmen to the hospital! LOL

Only problem with a team is……..

this is what you have to look at all the time!

Just about like being in Washington, DC I guess! 🙂

Wind blew hard yesterday and today. Me and Gabe did chores and then worked in the leather shop today. Didn’t seem to get a lot done, but at least I got something done. 😉

Brad stopped in this evening for a visit. Ate some steak off the new beef for supper. Good but not as good as the last one. Hard to beat a 5 year old spayed Corrientee heifer. Oh well, I got a couple Corrientee steers out here to fatten up. Now, if I could just cut up my own beef instead of paying someone else to do it! 🙂

If the wind don’t blow to hard tomorrow, maybe i’ll get to work with the new team.

Howdy!

Just got back from the Poetry Gathering at Chadron. Stoped and took some pictures of a saddle for future reference on the way down on Friday. Had a great time at Chadron and seen some old friends, met some new ones and listened to some great stuff.

Here’s a picture of me and Gabe on Beaver, from last week’s roping.

If you haven’t checked out the latest from the blog Tyler is contributing to, you need to. It’s great! http://spsseminarians.blogspot.com/

Here’s a different looking Ron.

And here’s a picture of Ruth.

I decided on Ruth for a name. Ron and Ruth, Ruth and Ron. Kind of has a ring to it, don’t it?.

I trimmed their forelocks and their mane where the collers fit, so as to not leave any sores. Oh, and I shortened their tails so they fit over the breeching on the harness better. Now they look like a draft team!

3:30 pm update! Just came in from harnessing and working with the team. ron is a pup. Just a real nice gentle sweetheart. Just need to hook him up wih Little, my old draft mare, I guess.

Ruth is a pistol. She pouts and then I let her run around the corral harnessed while I drove Ron. She tried to buck, several times. Shoot! Even I could ride her when she bucks! LOL

Introducing……..

My new team! Ron and Roz. I could only make the picturew of Ron work on here, so I will try and get Roz’s picture up tomorrow or later today.

I’m still not sure whether it should be Roz or Ruth. I guess as i work with her, she will let me know.

Here’s Ron.

I went up northwest of here yesterday and got these two. They are Haflingers. Kind of 3/4 sized Belgiuns. They sure are gentle. Ron was driven and used some last winter. He’s 3 years old. Roz is just halterbroke, but she seems real nice.

Now, I just got to get out there and get to working them. 🙂

A bunch of baby butts!

Just colt’s butt’s actually. LOL

I hauled one of these to the neighbor girl, yesterday. Then today, Brad, the young man who has been working in California, came over and worked with the other two. Went real well. I re-learned some stuff and made me realize I was on the right track.

Rel nice weather today. hated to be in the hoiuse, but was doing some leather work. Tomorrow will be a better day to be inside from the sounds of it. Lots of wind. Must be some politicions comeng thru’! 🙂

Yup Jim, your welcome to come spend a day here anytime. Come early and stay late! 🙂

And the winner is……..

(drumroll)

Jim!

Man! What a good lookin’, cute littler rascal! And the kid ain’t too bad either!

Jim will have to respond and tell us all more about the picture under comments.

And he’s kind of already won the grand prize, seeing as how he spent a day here not too long ago. Tho’ I suppose I could let him come back and spend a day with Jinglebob, if I have too!

Congrats Jim.

This picture was chosen by a panel of independent judges who were highly paid. They agonized for days over all the entries. Tough, tough job. Good thing they were so highly paid! 🙂

And thank you all for your entries. They were all great and you just never know, they may show up on here yet, in the future.;)
