Sept 21, 10

Kelvin and I and others, spent the last two days gathering in the breaks and then working the cattle. Got most of them gathered yesterday with not a lot of riders. Went back and gathered the remnants today and got them all worked. Left a lot of horse tracks and had some sore butts.

Here’s some pictures, especially for Sally!

And for my friend Corky, who seems to think all this land is flat around here, yes Corky it’s all flat. Except where it goes up or down!

  1. Thanks for the pictures. I always did like riding the breaks, course I was more familiar with the White River breaks south of Interior, but I did ride a little in the breaks east of Sturgis. That is such pretty country to ride in.

  2. Good looking country J.B. Somebody forgot the trees though.
The pictures up on the mountain look pretty nice to.
You want I should get the bunkhouse ready ya’ll are fixing to have winter.

  3. Corky, J.B. likes the Dakota winters. Keeps the wussies out of the country… wait maybe that’s why he is thinking of heading to AZ. LOL πŸ˜‰

  4. When you go out to “gather cattle”, do you do this to help your friends and neighbors out or is it a paying job? Is it the same way for branding cattle? It seems to me you are helping each other. The beautiful country is payment to the soul. It is true, the saying, “Life is not measured by the number of breathes we take, but by the moments that take our breathe away.”
