Spring

Has sprung.

Been working with horses, leather and grandkids.

Got some sour feedback from a young lady who didn’t approve of Chance and I’s way of handling the filly in the video. I am sure we could have done things different, but in the end, I think this was the best way to handle what we set out to accomplish. Those who have a different point of view are welcome to it. Just don’t waste my time telling me and offering your wisdom until it’s been asked for, please. Especially on a public forum, tho’ that is really more courageous  than those who wait and snipe when they see you in person, in a crowd situation. Then my raising won’t allow me to call you an ass when you act like one. If you have a problem with me or what I do, lets discuss it in private, if it’s really any of your concern to begin with.

I am sick of people who think they need to express their opinions of and too me, because of what I post on here, so I may slack off a bit. I seem to have plenty of other thing to do to occupy my time now anyway. Tho’ how I spend my time is really of no concern to anyone but me anyway, as I see it. We’ll see how it goes. If I could type and not make misspellings as fast as I can talk, I would inundate them with smart ass replies, but  then, I was taught to be nice to people.

Especially your elders, even if they are not your betters!

Now, off to a funeral. I hate when the young die before their time. No one should ever have to bury a child. No matter if they are 3 or 30.

  1. What?
Are you talking about the video of the colt bucking?
What the hell else were you suppose to do?

    Where is that video, anyway?
I want to show it to my husband.
I’m sure he will approve of your methods…

  2. JB, don’t you know that you have to consider the source, that is what I say! You go right on doing things the way you want, it is no ones business any how and if they don’t like it tough shit! I may not comment everyday, but I sure do visit when I can and I love to read and see what you have been up too. So DON’T STOP!

  3. Don’t stop writing, I check this blog every day and enjoy what you write. There is always a no it all that wants to voice an opinion and it means very little to anyone.

    1. Thanks Ellie, that means a lot. I won’t stop. Just might slow down. We’ll see. This is a pretty good place to vent! LOL

  4. I will second (or third) all the other comments. I hope you keep posting and as often as you can find time. I learn so much from you and Linda P about your life and about horses and things I really want to know. Thanks

  5. Don’t take to heart the crap from this youngster. I personally get so much joy from reading about your ranch and your ranch life. I enjoyed the video. The problem is her. Your life is interesting and if this little snot ruins the fun of posting on this blog for you, shame on her.

    1. Thanks JJ. She is sincere and really does think she knows better. We have been have a long discussion about it.

  6. I can see all kinds of things wrong with starting this colt too. There aint a bunch of ice on the ground, the dog never did duck in and bite the filly, she didn’t tear any of the corral up, the saddle appears to still be in good condition, and the anchor didn’t even drop the lead rope. I know there are some pretty handy people out there that can keep a horse from bucking, but I have to admit that I do tend to breath a sigh of relief when a colt tests things, decides acceptance is easier than fighting and you can resume the process. I sure enjoy checking in on your outfit every once in awhile. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Tell em all to pound and bag of sand. This is your life, not theirs.

Oh, and if she’s somewhat hot… Have her send me a pic.
