New book

Fr Tyler brought me a book to read when he came back from Boston. I am going pretty slow.

It’s called “You Can Understand the Bible” by Peter Kreeft.

This morning as I was reading this book, it made mention of the books of Joshua and Judges and points out that through out history Israel followed a pattern of

Suffering, Repentance, Blessedness, Luxury, Pride, Disaster, Suffering, Repentance, etc.

Then it points out that “all human history, individual and social, follows this pattern.”

Soooo, we are just at what point in this country?

Perhaps we ned to go back and take the advice from Proverbs 3:5-7?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not rely on your own insight.

In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make straight your paths.

Be not wise in your own eyes;

fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.

It sure seems pretty simple to me! I think I will print this out and hang it on the wall as a daily reminder that I am not in control or in charge, but God is.

  1. Maybe Congress needs to read this also. There’s proof you can’t legislate away a problem. Sorry about the video link…but then again I aint the sharpest tool in the shed…but I’m not rusty either..
