Woke up to snow on the vehicles, but it melted when it hit the ground and it melted off by mid morning. Rode out this afternoon and moved the pairs back north. Probably open all the gates down south and let the heifer run where they please for the few days they will still be here. Supposed to go out mid part of next week. So I need to line up some help to move them across the rode on Tuesday and load on Wednesday. Then Chance is going to sell his calves on Friday. I think I will just wean and hold mine until after the first.
Got a nice yearling steer here if anyone wants some good beef. I can’t believe people would pass up beef at $2 a pound, cut and wrapped, hamburger, steaks, roasts and all.
Supposed to get up to 60 tomorrow and then stay a little above freezing the next few days until the weekend and then up to 40 by next Monday. We’ll see. Hope this is just our early winter warning or “Indian Winter” and it goes back to fall or “Indian Summer”!
I need to move closer! You can’t buy beef for that here.
Hell, I’d do it in a second, but the drive would kill it.
Wonder what it would cost to ship!
Let’s see… dry ice, insulated packaging, plus overnight shipping…
Yep, it’d be painful.
