  1. Very nice, one thing I did wrong is that I got into horses at 32, I am now 44, I have seemed to do the thing that people always tell you not to do and that is have a green horse for a first horse and that seems to be all I have had!! My first horse died a couple of years ago, and he was green, I could ride but I had to be careful. He took off before I was in the saddle, he bucked me off, now I have a horse that was free and only 5 years old (no such thing as free!) I spent 4000 on having him trained and now the fear is installed, good, because stupid me still haven’t learned, when he wanted to go, I wanted him not to and I fell off and ended up in the hospital and on crutches for a couple of weeks. I am doing Parelli, I don’t know if you have heard of him? I keep telling my husband that I should sell the horses and put that money into something I know I can ride and not have to worry quite so much! (still a prey animal no matter what) He says that if I do that, you still have to be careful, of course, you can’t trust someone’s a BOMB proof horse. The moral of this story is, I wish I had a kids horse!!!

  2. Yeah Lisa, I sold a bomb proof one to a guy in Illinois. I have his son who is almost as bomb proof, but not quite. There is always a risk, but you can narrow that risk down. I have heard of Parrelli. Her has some good stuff. But he tends to make you think he is the only one who knows this stuff, which is not true. Many many great horse people out there who can do wonders. But you still need the right kind of horse. And there is still a risk as they area living breathing animal and not a machine.

Go to my blog roll and click on Ranching Country and join the board and go to reading. You will find great folks who will help you a lot. We even have some who are not that far from you. If you like what you see, be sure and go give an intro, so they don’t kick you off after a week or so. Read a few others and get an idea of what others have done as far as intro’s. It’s a great group of people who hang out there. Lots of fun and knowledge to share.

I go by JB which is short for Jinglebob.

  3. Hello, again JB, I will be giving you a call soon! My husband has lots of questions and I told him I would wait until he was home to call, that way if he has questions he can ask also! What would be a good time to call you? I would like to call when it is convenient for you and when you have the time to talk (like any of us have time!!) Take care and hopefully we will be talking to you soon.

  4. Ok, sounds good. I have to remember the time difference!! We will give you a call next Sunday afternoon! Have a good week and I am sure I will be talking to you tomorrow!
