Whew!

The fox wasn’t rabid!

Chance, Hope, the boys and I went to Rapid today. Sam got his cast off and we brought home a POA mare. Hopefully she will rmember her training from when she was youg. She was cheap enough that if she doesn’t we aren’t out too much.

I am the DD for a bachelor party tonight. Hopefully they won’t stay out all night!

  1. I am so glad to hear that fox wasn’t rabid. In NY we have to keep the dogs vaccinated, but other animals…cows, horses etc. are always a concern. The state used to pay to vaccinate cows, but now it is 8 bucks a cow plus the vet visit and time so we only do the show cows. I worry though whenever we have an animal with neurological symptoms of any kind. We spent our first wedding anniversary (many long moons ago) hauling a cow’s head to the state lab to be tested. Thankfully, as the boss had been pilling her with a balling gun, she wasn’t rabid either. Since then there have been cats, bats, skunks, raccoons and all manner of critters of concern…

  2. Sounds like they were pretty quick about getting that test done and you didnt have to wait too long (tho’ it I’m sure it seemed like forever). I sure am happy you don’t have to go for the shots and your dogs will be ok!
Better load up on the coffee for tonight 🙂

  3. Dang Hubba, if I had only known! Tho’, as nasty as he looked from the mange, I think I did him a favor.
