Water!

I caught a ride to town with the neighbor lady who works where Cindy does. She goes on as Cindy is going off shift, so it’s pretty handy. Cindy and I went up to Spearfish and got a load of wood pellets for the stove. Wandered and looked a little, then grabbed a sandwich, some groceries and came home. From the road it looked like the big dam was running over the spillway so we drove up to look and could hardly drive out of the yard for all the mud. The dam was running over ,but we didn’t see any little trout swimming downstream, so hopefully there will be some still in there to catch and eat. Guess I should find some chicken wire and put across the spillway.

I plugged the tractor in this morning when I got up and after a bit I will see if I can get up to the cows and give them some hay, as it is not going to be real nice today or tomorrow. Kind of froze on top right now so I probably can get there but I can only feed in one spot as I don’t think the cows will come to the crossing as the water is running pretty hard, or at least it was last night. Little boggy to make the team pull a bale up there.

Heres some pictures of the boys playing in an empty cupboard.

“Hey Gramma, you got any Gus in that cupboard?”

LATE BREAKING UPDATE!

Cows were standing at the tree patch just north of the house and it was frozen enough that I didn’t even make ruts.

Now, if I could just get rid of this cold some rotten little grandkids gave me!
