Saturday April 12-08

Chan and Hope came out yesterday afternoon. They said it was a miserable day in Rapid. Windy sleet. Thgey were glad to get out here where the sun was shining, and it was just windy. I got Sam to smile for me! Gus just gets bigger and walks better ever time we see him. Chan and I worked on a set of carpenter bags for him. If they work I’ll probably build quite a few for guys he works with. Should make him help me on the tractor today and try and see why it’s making a funny noise. I hate to mechanic!

UPDATE: All we had to do to the tractor was tighten a bolt down on an injector! And I was even the one who figured it out! Cool. Who say’s I got no mechanic skills? LOL

We’ve had several little snow storms blow thru’ today and then melt right off. Kind of weird. Oh well, we are in  South Dakota!

We got over an inch of moisture with snow and rain it looks like! Let it soak in and send some more!

  1. Well good deal glad to hear you are getting some moisture. Dont be scared to wrench on that tractor that grease will wash off. Just send me a picture of you laying under it working on it with your boots stove piped and your chinks on !!!!!

  2. Don’t count on it little buddy! ‘Sides we need to work on the top of the motor, not underneath.

  3. I talked to Vickie in Winner yesterday and she said they got at least a foot and maybe a foot and a half of snow. She said it was very slushy so it’s already melting and causing that good old spring gumbo. I need to call Dick and see if they got as much northwest of White River. I wish I could send some of our moisture your way. I want it to start dying up and most of all, warming up! It was only about 36 here today.

  4. Debra from Plainview:The storm that was supposed to be was a dud,out this way,the ranch has dried up very quick, and no standing water in corrals, which is fine because thats where I have to be alot and soon going to get busy and brand, thats about it at Plainview.
