Lovely Deb from Plainview stopped in and dropped off 4 dozen eggs. Thanks Deb. Man, I will really have to go to eating eggs now!      I rode Beaver up west and rode all over looking for a slunk calf and didn’t find anything. I know the heifer slunk one as she has cleanings, but I can’t find it. That is the second one on these lease cows and I ain’t likin’ it very well!     Still somewhat puny, but did enjoy the ride. Not much wind and about 35 degrees.

  1. Yeah we call them sluffed too. Maybe coyotes got him. Course i guess you would have found some hide or something. Here they will disappear cause of the lions but i guess you probably don’t have that problem. You still will find a little hair tho. isn’t it funny how they can do that and you can look a million times and not find a damn thing.

Then you got them young cows who will walk off and leave their calf and you look and look and cant find him, then two months later your gathering or prowling around and find whats left of a baby calf curled up in a little ball were he was trying to stay warm. You just wanna kick your own ass for not looking harder. Man that just makes a guy think to himself that you just wanna find that cow again and put a hurtin on her for walkin off and leaving that baby like that.

  2. Latest mountain lion sighting at frieberg ranch plainview,on the run chasing deer,a cowboy saw it from his 4 wheeler.Anyway have cindy bake with the eggs and do hardboiled, and poched eggs for breakfast. So far no drama calving heifers but after 8 years of calving heifers,Memmen ranch needed some peace and quiet.and maybe were getting the nack.Sorry about the calf it’s happened to us all but that does’t mean we like it very much.Your pal Deb,how the new puppy getting along.
