Well, I set here writing this a changed man. I got contacts today!

Guess that is good enough for the first anniversary of this blog.

I was needing to get my eyes vhecked and had visitied with a neighbor lady who wore these soft contacts for years. She since has had Lasic surgery and commented that she missed her contacts for keeping dirt out of her eyes. That was the main reason I had never tried them before.

My eyes had changed a little and I hate wearing glases, for all the usual reasons, so I hope these work. Pop them in and leave them in for a month and then pop a new set in. About the same cost as my glasses, maybe a little cheaper. I won’t have to worry about them fogging up, or sweat running off my face into them or them getting dirty.

So I guess old dogs can try new tricks. We’ll see how it goes.

Here’s Dean pitching one at the hind end while Case holds the front end. I thought if I made it sepia toned maybe the ropes would show up better.

  1. I as well hate glasses…I lose the, break them, drop them, drive over them….You name it I have done it to glasses! I love contacts! Good luck with yours! Mad found Nirvana! We were on our usual pony hunt and made a stop at the ranch website….and WA LA we found a whole page of ponies! The scary part? She started naming them…woody, suzy and her baby, Kidd…..Repeat after me MAD CAN’T HAVE A PONY! MAD CAN’T HAVE A PONY! :o)

  2. can you shoot straight? throw a loop straight? tie them tiny little flies to your line? read your own street signs?

then good on ya, bob — the miracles of modern optometry!

  3. I’ve never had to deal with glasses my whole life. Now, I can’t read small print without a pair of cheaters, which I never have when I need them. It’s cruel, I tell ya. I don’t blame you for going for the contacs. When my eyes get bad enough, I might opt for the laser. I had a torn retina lasered and it wasn’t too bad. Though the doc told me it’s not the same thing. Or, maybe I should try contacs. For now I am happy in the state of denial.

  4. The difference between contacts and glasses is night and day in my opinion.. You might find that taking the contacts out after a real windy and dusty day might feel good.. And yes, the full field of vision is something..
