Got up and went to Mass this morning. Then when I got home I ran the horses in and saddled up Mijo. Chance came and saddled his horse and then the neighbors showed up and we gathered their yearlings. Sent a load and left the others in the corral until they came back for theContinue reading “9/13”

9/12
Rained last night. Pretty cool out there this morning. Might be time to load some pellets in the wood stove. Or bake some bread or some such. Defiantly coat wearing weather! We are shipping some yearling’s tomorrow and were going to vaccinate the calves with their fall shots, but now I wonder if it mightContinue reading “9/12”
Friday 9/11
Didn’t do too much today. Rode Mijo south and moved some cattle and set some gates. Thought and read about the happening on 9/11/01. Doesn’t seem all that long ago. Prayed for those who lost members of their families in the carnage. And for those who caused it and those who would still do theContinue reading “Friday 9/11”
Pictures
Heres some pictures from the day of gathering and cattle working. I captioned them so you can see why I took the picture.
Off to work cattle
Going over the a neighbors in a bit. We will trailer over to his summer pasture about 20 miles from here, gather a little over 5000 acres and sort the cows from the calves, pouring the cows and giving the calves their fall shots. I am taking Pilgrim as he is ready for a biggerContinue reading “Off to work cattle”
Uhhggg!
Paid bills this morning. I don’t know why, but I hate it. Even tho’ I have the money to pay them, I just hate the fact of having to set down and write those checks out and watch the amount in my checking account dwindle! If I was rich in money (cuz I am richContinue reading “Uhhggg!”
Labor Day
We’ve been laboring! I went and worked on my spetic system this moring, ran the garbage out and when Hope and Chance and the boys came up, Chance and I worked on the roof, trying to seal off the leaks. Hopefully we have them. After dinner Cindy and Hope went and picked wild grapes andContinue reading “Labor Day”
Another one
Went down towards Rapid and got another POA mare for the grandkids today. Last one wants to be a bucking horse. This is a 3 year old mare and looks like the last one, only lots uglier! She’s thinner and seems to be fine. Gus was setting on her tonight and we were trying toContinue reading “Another one”
Just another day
Don’t seem like I got too much done. Walked out and suckered the horses in, with a bucket of grain. Well, all but Woody, who decided to hang out with the mares and colts, across the fence. Saddled up Beaver and got the open heifers in so the trucker could haul them away, later. HeContinue reading “Just another day”
Pregged
We had the vet here and a couple neighbors and we ultra sound tested the breeding heifers group of yearling’s yesterday. They were sorted into 3 different calving dates and ear tagged to mark them. Also all the number were written down so they could individually know who is going to calve, when. Hmm, yearsContinue reading “Pregged”
