Drat!

We had the cows preg checked yesterday. Chance had more open cows than he wanted. I hauled them in to the sale barn and plan on hauling the rest of mine in today. They sure had a lot of cattle there yesterday. The wet weather of the past week must have slowed some down and they came in this week.

I have to pick up Cindy and Fr Tyler at the airport this evening. They have spent the week in California, goofing off. Sounds like they’ve had a nice trip.

What ever crud I had seems to have mostly past, leaving a slight harsh cough in my lungs, tho’ I feel fine. The boys seem, to be all better and over the effects of the H1N1 they had.

Tate and Kass and the boys will be up next weekend for the opening of deer season. I suppose I should get a license. It will be Lige’s birthday so we will have to do something special for him. Maybe go horseback riding with Grampa? LOL

Gonna be a long one

Chance and I are headed out in the morning, going to the breaks to help gather a bunch of years scattered over a lot of rough country. Kind of a last minute deal, so we won’t get a real early start as it will have to be light enough to gather our saddle horses in the morning. Hope it don’t get me feeling sickly. But it shouldn’t. I will try and remember to take a camera and get some pictures to put on here.

When I fed the colts and calves in the corral yesterday morning I plugged the tractor in. Went over to Punkin Center about noon and ate lunch and got a big bag of extruded soybean for the critters. When I got home I started the tractor and backed the baler I am tearing apart, out of the shop, hooked onto the bag of bean and unloaded it inside the shop, backed the baler in and parked the tractor. Then I went and played with the filly, pictured. She’s Peaches 09 filly. Must be related to every one around here cuz she seems a trifle hard headed! ‘Course, it could have just been my poor skills at presenting to her what I wanted. I’d felt pretty good, but as soon as I started doing things, I got to feeling poorly again. Sure will be nice when this crud goes away.

I talked to Hope and she said the doctor has the boys all jacked up on their meds. She heard Gus talking away to something by the bookshelf so she walked over and he had him a mouse he was trying to coax out. She got a jar and put some peanut butter on the rim and in a shot time, Gus had captured his mouse! They took it outside and let it go, but she thinks Buddy, the Corgie probably had a mouse for dinner!

Glad to hear them boys are feeling better. Cindy and Tyler went to Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood yesterday and looked at all the hand and foot prints in the cement. Sounds like they are having fun. Good for them. They can have all that country. Too many people and too much city to suit me!

Go read Dickiebo’s blog. He’s really on a roll today!

Dang!

Got up this morning feeling pretty chipper and then went out and started burning some old junk in the shed and granary and working on tearing the baler apart some more. Guess I shouldn’t have. Now I feel woozy and like crap again. Oh well, this to shall pass.

Kids took the boys to the doc this morning, sounds like. Hope they are on the mend.

Gone

We got up this morning and headed for the airport. Cindy and Tyler are flying out to California to visit her sister, near Long Beach. One day is planned to go to the San Diego zoo.

I thought I was feeling better, but evidently it was just a trick as I still don’t fel all that well.

Hope took Gus to the doc yesterday and he has H1N1. Got him on all kinds of things, as he has asthma to begin with, so they are really are hitting it hard. I called Chance this morning and sounds like he might be a bit better this morning. I hope so.

Sure is a nice morning out there today, tho’! Supposed to get up in the 50’s and stay that way for a spell. Works for me!

Uuhhggg

I might feel a wee bit better this morning. All I did yesterday was nurse this damn cold. We got about 4 inches of snow. Cindy stayed in because of the weather and my cold. She and Tyler are flying to California to see her sister, on Sunday. I didn’t want her to catch what I’ve got so I told her to stay in there. She will probably be home this afternoon. Hopefully my cold will be past the catching stage.

I don’t get many colds so when I do it’s the pits.

I’d be glad to give this one away if anyone wants it!
