Cindy brought Hope and the boys out Thursday evening. They rode with me to Newell to get the beef we butchered a few weeks ago. Over $400 to process a beef. Tate had sold half to some guys he works with so what they paid about paid for the processing charge. That leaves me with a half a beef, all cut and wrapped that we will get to eat. I didn’t make a dime on him, but we will get to eat him. Yeah, that ranching is a sure way to get rich! But at least we have good meat. π
Going to get cold for a spell. Hope the wind don’t blow too hard.
We’re supposed to get snow tomorrow and Monday – 3″ to 5″ – and I’m sure hoping we do. It’s pretty dry around here.
To me that is one of the best parts of the job. We certainly will never be wealthy, but we sure do have great food.
