Whew!

I went out this afternoon to dig and move snow with the tractor so Cindy could get out to go to work in the morning and people could drive in. I pushed a load out of the driveway and across the road and dumped it in the ditch and when I went to bvck up…………..the tractor wouldn’t go in reverse!

O man!

I was stuck crossways in the road with my front wheels hung over the edge of the ditch on top of snow and they sank a little. I fiddled and messed with it trying to get it back into reverse, but all it did was go forward and make things worse. Finally I came to the house and got Cindy and a tow rope and my Dodge Ram 4×4. I got hooked on and had Cindy steer and after a lot of grunting and hitting it harder and harder, we got it popped out and pulled into the yard.

I came in and called the local mechanic and asked what to do. He mentioned several things, so I called Chance and told him to come help as I am not a very good grease monkey. While looking and fiddling with it, I took a cover off, tried moving a couple things and viola! I got it! Woo hoo! And now I know what to do next time this happens!

I was so proud of myself. And so thankful God looks over us idiots! Praise the Lord!

  1. Voila, my dear friends, is French for (I in plain speak) “there you go”.
    JB you sound like a certain man around here that hates grease πŸ˜‰

  2. I didn’t like to show off like Linda!!!!!!! but if my schoolboy French is right then;
    Voici – Here is/Here are.
    Voila = There is/There are.
    Oui?

  3. Now Linda, I don’t hate grease, but it sure hates me! My hands break out and get all sore and I am just to ignorant to understand how these modern marvels work. Teams and saddle horses. I can kind of understand and make work, and the tools that are used with them.

    Cest le vie?

    Ja teme?

    Adios!
