We went down south to pick up salt barrels so I could put salt out. Chance and I moved yearling’s north yesterday so we needed to move the salt tanks also. While we was at it, Tate and I looked for Antelope. We found a little bunch with a fair buck. Tate made a stalk and so did I while Chance drove the pickup around. All of a sudden I heard shots. Tate got his buck. I never got a chance at a doe. Oh well, there is still a couple weeks left of season.
This buck measured 14 on one side 14 and a half on the other. 6 inches around the base. 3 and a half on the shovels.
I am heading to Alzada to perform poetry and music tomorrow.
Good shooting, Tate, and good luck, Robert!
Our season closes today. It’s a relief as it’s so dry. We’ve still got a real good one running around as of this morning. I don’t doubt he’ll measure over 16.
Nice! Turkey just started here.
