Kind of warmish out there today.

We got a big wind and about 1.40 hundreds of rain with some pea sized hail last night. Broke some big tree limbs off and knocked down some of the old dead cottonwood trees out behind the house.

Put a seat on my wagon bed today and hooked some brakes up. Chance and I just came back from driving the team. Went pretty good. I let Chance drive some. He found out it’s quite a bit different than riding a horse. You have to take ahold of them more than our saddle horse and keep them on a snug rein, which are called lines on a team.

Need to get all the junk I got at Dusty’s out of my trailer tomorrow. After church. We should ride and doctor on cattle tomorrow also.

I added a new blog to my blog roll. Elle. She is not for children or the faint of heart, but if you can handle the language, she is a riot!

Thanks Liz and Linda for helping with the links. I will see what I can get done, one of these days.

And Og, it is cool to be able to tie them knots and all that fancy stuff with rope. People lives used to depend on it and still do in a few of our lives.

  1. OH MY WORD!
I just read a coupla days’ worth of Elle the Pirate – you were so right – she is not for the faint of heart .

BUT I may be up laughing all night long reading her archives!!

    Thanks!

  2. I’ve taken the lines a time or two back home, and what I’m always struck by is the feeling of horsepower. It’s a bit like hooking a big fish — feels like a pretty tenuous connection sometimes …
